I'm a Brit living in a small town in the south west of Germany, on the edge of a nature park, the Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald. The landscape is very hilly with vineyards & orchards on the lower slopes merging into forest above. 42 years young, married since 1997 to my lovely wife.

Hello "Over the Hill",

How close are you to Mannheim?

From Ian on Tue, Jan 15, 2008 at 13:17:48

I live south of Heilbronn, Mannheim is about 100km away.

I was in the US Army and station in Mannheim from 1990-1992 - Spinelli Barracks. I really enjoyed K-town, Heildelberg and Munich. I want to visit one day as a civilian.

From Ian on Wed, Jan 16, 2008 at 14:14:28

I was in the Royal Air Force for many years (80s-90s) but never had a tour in Germany. Heidelberg and München are favourites of mine too but I haven't visited Kaiserslautern yet.
