Personal:

I'm a Brit living in a small town in the south west of Germany, on the edge of a nature park, the Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald. The landscape is very hilly with vineyards & orchards on the lower slopes merging into forest above. 42 years young, married since 1997 to my lovely wife.

A.M. Public holiday again today for Fronleichnam/Corpus Christi, depending in which Bundesland you live in. A short lively hill run in the woods was on the cards this morning, a cool and overcast morning with a light breeze, great conditions to run. I enjoyed myself and included 6 x 100 strides and 1 x 400m. Total 15,1k in 1:08:45, av pace 4:33/k, 7:20/mi.

So I guess I’m an activist at heart. I noticed we’ve only had 13 votes but 144 views and there are more of you out there. I know some people don’t use the discussion board of the blog so I’m posting this comment on everyone’s blog that has updated in the last few days or so to bring your attention to both the discussion section and the mileage board. Please read the discussion here (http://fastrunningblog.com/forum/index.php/topic,324.0.html) and then vote here (http://fastrunningblog.com/forum/index.php/topic,348.0.html) if you have an opinion. If you already voted, I am sorry about the “spam.” Thank you!

Is 'lively' code for fast run over hills? Good work!

Hope you enjoyed the holiday, Ian! I can never keep up with German holidays, and I need to (I work for SAP). So I would schedule something, or expect replies to my emails, only to find out everyone is off, and usually the following Friday as well, when the holiday falls on Thursday! Now we will have banking holiday on Monday :).
